Professor John Alba Cutler has been named a 2020-2021 Radcliffe Institute Fellow. This fellowship is based at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University and supports 50 scholars each year. An extremely competitive program, the acceptance rate for 2020-2021 was 2.8 percent.

John Alba Cutler, professor of English and Latina & Latino Studies Program, will be focusing on how Spanish-language periodicals from the early 20th century acted as literary institutions for Latinx communities.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to be a Radcliffe fellow next year not only for the time and resources it will afford me to advance my research, but also to learn from a group of scholars doing such dynamic, compelling work,” said Professor Cutler.

“I look forward to learning and growing from my interactions with the other scholars, and I hope that doing so will help me refine my ideas and learn to communicate them to a broader audience.”
