Professor André de Gouvêa elected 2021 fellow for the American Association for the Advancement of Sciences
October 25, 2020

André de Gouvêa, Professor of Physics, has been elected a 2021 fellow for the American Association for the Advancement of Sciences (AAAS). Professor de Gouvêa was elected for his contributions to the understanding of the physics of neutrinos and their role in the extensions of the Standard Model of particle physics.
The American Association for the Advancement of Sciences (AAAS) is the world’s largest general scientific society. Its fellows are members whose efforts on behalf of the advancement of science or its applications are scientifically or socially distinguished. Read more about this prestigious fellowship here.
Prof. de Gouvêa concentrates his research efforts on theoretical high-energy physics, more specifically on the phenomenology of the physics that lies beyond the standard model of particle physics. One his the main goals is to explore the new physics that has manifested itself in the leptonic sector.
