November 17, 2020

Professor Sylvia Perry, professor in the Department of Psychology, has been awarded the 2020 SAGE Young Scholar Award by the Society for Personality and Social Psychology.
The Sage Young Scholar Awards recognize outstanding achievements by young scholars who are early in their research careers. Awards are given to candidates with demonstrated exceptional individual achievements in social and/or personality psychology (broadly defined), conducting research that places them at the forefront of their peers. The 2020 SAGE Young Scholars cohort is made up of eight impressive scholars.
The award is intended to provide scholars with funds that can be flexibly applied in extending their work in new and exciting directions. Professor Perry will continue her investigation on how racial bias awareness develops, and the implications of bias awareness for prejudice reduction, intergroup contact, and health disparities.
