In this episode of the Global Lunchbox Podcast, Professor Geraldo Cadava explains his close connection to his grandfather, a Hispanic Republican, and his experience and research in politics within the American Hispanic community. He discusses how his own views differ from some of those in his family, and how he enjoys seeing other political points of view to better understand others.
Geraldo Cadava is Associate Professor of History and Director of the Latina & Latino Studies Program at Northwestern. His work focuses on Latinos in the United States and the U.S.-Mexico borderlands. Cadava is the author of The Hispanic Republican: The Shaping of an American Political Identity, From Nixon to Trump (Ecco, May 2020).
