Marzouq Alnusf, a PhD candidate in Weinberg’s Department of Philosophy, has been named a Charlotte W. Newcombe Doctoral Dissertation Fellow. Nationally, this award is arguably the most prestigious fellowship available for the humanities addressing questions of religious and ethical values. It includes a 12-month award of $27,500 to support the final year of the Fellow’s dissertation.

Alnusf’s academic and research interests include social and political philosophy, philosophy of race and modern Arabic philosophy. His dissertation focuses on the relationship between capitalism, justice, and race.

“I am very happy and thankful to receive the award. It offers additional validation of my research, boosts my own confidence as a researcher, and is a prominent platform that helps me continue to develop and grow,” said Alnusf.
