Students can explore career options and connect with alumni at the Career Summit hosted by Waldron Student-Alumni Connections on September 20
August 31, 2021
The Waldron Student-Alumni Connections Career Summit will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021, from 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. CT. The Career Summit — which will be virtual — offers students an opportunity to learn how to communicate their professional narrative, explore career options, and connect with alumni.
The keynote speaker is Amanda Saratsis ’02 (Biological Sciences), who is an Attending Physician, in the Division of Neurosurgery and Department of Pediatric Surgery at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
The Waldron Student-Alumni Connections Program helps students explore career possibilities, hone their networking abilities, and learn how to communicate the value of their arts and sciences degrees. Moreover, the opportunity to engage with already-established alumni helps students envision their professional futures, alleviating concerns about life after graduation.
The Career Summit will feature alumni who work in a variety of industries in a panel format. Industries will include:
- Healthcare
- Finance and Investment Banking
- Research and Education
- Nonprofits
- Consulting
- Politics and Policy
- Arts and Media
- Startups and Entrepreneurship
- Law
- Energy and Sustainability
- Big Data
- Communications and Marketing
The Career Summit will also include small group discussions and an opportunity for networking.
Students can register to attend the event here.
In 2020 when the pandemic began, the Waldron Student-Alumni Connections Program also hosted several virtual panels to keep alumni and students engaged.
