Assistant Professor Xiaoyu Zhang received a Damon Runyon-Dale F. Frey Award for Breakthrough Scientists.
This award supports “spectacular young scientists who are the most likely to make paradigm-shifting breakthroughs that transform the way we prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.”
Xiaoyu is being recognized for his integration of chemical tools with proteomics and genetic approaches to interrogate and discover small molecule protein degraders. His research on expanding druggable space in human cancer may provide a novel therapeutic modality for treating many cancers.
