Chemistry Professor Joseph Hupp receives Allen J. Bard Award

Professor Joseph T. Hupp recently received the Allen J. Bard Award from the Electrochemical Society (ECS). According to the ECS website, the recipient is recognized for “paradigm-shifting contributions in the fields of electrochemical science and recognized for exceptionally creative experimental or theoretical studies that have opened new directions in electro-analytical chemistry or electro-catalysis.”

Joseph T. Hupp is a Professor of Chemistry at Northwestern University. He makes and studies molecular materials and supramolecular assemblies. Some are designed to understand fundamental aspects of molecular recognition, directed assembly, light harvesting and directional energy transport, and electron transfer reactivity. Others are designed to exploit these phenomena to solve problems involving solar energy conversion, chemical fuel storage and release, chemical sensing, molecular transport, and chemical separations, or selective catalysis.

Hupp will be honored at the ECS Meeting in Boston in May 2023 and will feature a presentation based on his work in chemistry.
