Professor Alessandro Pavan selected as 2020 Fellow of the Society for Advancement of Economic Theory

Dr. Alessandro Pavan, professor in the Department of Economics, has been selected as a 2020 Fellow of the Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory.

Economic Theory Fellows are selected for scientific excellence, originality, and leadership; high ethical standards; and scholarly and creative achievement. Fellows have made contributions in areas of theoretical economics, including pure and applied research, and government service. Most notably, fellows have substantially advanced economic theory – an important achievement.

Professor Pavan is now one of 16 Northwestern associates to be named an Economic Theory Fellow. His research concerns the analysis of the role of information in strategic situations of interest to both micro and macro economists. Pavan’s research has a particular focus on global games, the social value of information and coordination, mechanism design, matching, and two-sided markets.
