Yosi Kratish is a postdoctoral trainee in the Department of Chemistry, as well as a member of the Tobin Marks Group. Kratish was awarded the 2020-2021 McBride Postdoctoral Trainee Award for the positive influence he brought to his lab’s environment. Additionally, he fosters collaboration and mentorship between students — making the lab approachable and helpful.
McBride Postdoctoral Trainee Award recipients are students who exceed in the areas of diversity, service, and engagement.
Kratish’s research concerns chemical recycling where component monomers are recovered from waste plastics. The monomers recovered can ultimately be repurposed for identical or improved performance. Eventually, Kratish’s research could have vast positive influences on the environment and pollution.
“My work’s most significant impact would be reducing the amount of waste plastic globally and repurposing it into valuable and useful materials,” said Yosi Kratish.
