Professor Matthias Doepke selected as 2020 Fellow of The Econometric Society

Matthias Doepke, professor in the Department of Economics, was elected as a 2020 Fellow for the Econometric Society.

The Econometric Society devotes itself to the advancement of economics through the use of mathematical and statistical methods. The society counts about 700 of the world’s most prominent economists among its elected fellows. Professor Doepke and 45 other prominent economists from universities around the world make up this year’s cohort of Fellows.

Professor Matthias Doepke’s research focuses on topics in economic growth and development, political economy, and monetary economics. Most recently he has been working on theories of demographic change, family economics, the role of political and cultural change in economic development, and redistributional effects of inflation.
